I use serviio 1.4.1.2 on ubuntu 14.04.
Recently I bought a Samsung (UN32J5500) and all works fine, less the subtitles.
I tried all samsung profiles available to me (A, B, C/D and E/F series). I tried Generic DLNA profile too.
If I copy the files to usb pendrive, subs works ok.

There are other conf or profile to try?

J series is not fully supported yet. With H profile Serviio is able to stream mkv's with internal subs and show internal subs. External files are not working atm. It has all been reported and serviio developer is working on it. So stay tuned ...
