Serviio

Hi guys,

I'm running Serviio 0.5.1 with Samsung TV (B-series) profile. TV connected over wired network. Transcoding is enabled. TV says that video not supported. Mediainfo and bitrateviewer logs are attached.
It looks like I need to transcode this video but I dont know that setting should be used.

H264 profile/level seems compatible, bitrate too. With mkvmerge you could have some problem with "header compression" feature.
Could you provide mkvinfo result of your file?
You could also check that viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1132#p5402 .

Thank you for the reply. My MKVs have header removal feature enabled. Your solution works fine but audio was still unavailable. I've removed compression for it and now everything OK.

it would be great if you could clarify on what you did to fix it...

i am also having .mkv problems on my B.. .funny thing is if i change to A profile they work.. and the other files no longer work.. so i have to switch between profiles.. quite annoying..

follow previous poster example and post " details on fiel that will not play " (howto in my signiture)

I have a Samsung B panel..

the first file weeds.s07e03.720p.hdtv.x264-ctu.mkv plays in Samsung B profile fine.. also in A profile

weeds.s07e03.720p.hdtv.x264-immerse.mkv': comes up with 'audio codec not supported' in b profile but works in A profile
(works in A with transcoding turned on, but not in off)

Most more common video files wont work in A profile..

So i am stuck

i have looked thru the reports looking for differences the old small difference is in the second file (immerse version) in the media info report in the audio section the report lists... Title English, Lang English.. otherwise dont see a difference between audio codec..

It is becoming more common to need to switch to A profile for the odd .mkv file..

looks like a header compression issue on the second file or maybe a corrupt file as it reports.

ok.. if the file named... weeds.s07e03.proper.720p.hdtv.x264-immerse.mkv why does it play when i change the profile to A.. with transcoding turned on... i often need to change over 720p tv rips to Samsung A Profile to play it.. but change it back to watch everything else..

profile A transcodes to mpeg2 while profile B probably only remuxes the file, leaving the original stream as is (and the TV not liking the stream for some reason)
