Cannot see the resume function and forward/rewind too slow

Hello Guys

I am relatively new to the world of DLNA and Serviio. :)

I cannot see the resume/bookmarking function and the speed of the Forward/Rewing function is too slow (much slower than a direct USB connection to my DLNA device).

Here is my set-up:

-I have Serviio running on my netbook EEE PC 1000H with the profile 'Samsung C series' selected.
-The files are stored on a hard drive which is USB-linked to the Iomega iConnect hub. The iConnect is network wired to my broadband hub, acting like a NAS.
-The DLNA player is the Blue Ray Player BD-C5500 which is network wired to my broadband hub.
- The TV is a Samsung TV series 6
- I am running Servvio version 0.5.2

The movies all play well on the BD-C5500 via DLNA.

What am I missing? :?:

Thanks

So they play on the BD player but not on the TV?
Is your player US or EU region? Make sure you have the latest firmware.

I can view the movies ok on the TV when I play on the BD player via DLNA.

I have not played on the TV via DLNA and I do not intend to as I am happy with the BD player.

The player is EU region and has the latest firmware (the player has an automatic notification if the firmware is out of date).

that auto notification doesnt always work please post the firmware number.

Samsung BDP DLNA is not very good you would be much better off using the tv for dlna rather than the BDP..

I recently was able to rid myself of UE40C6000, because of audio sync problem when playing files(AVI) using DLNA and USB sources. I got a full money refund, and bought myself UE40C8705 and I am very happy with it. But I notice that my new TV is very slow to forward/rewind DLNA/USB material. The UE40C6000 was much faster in this regard. Can't have everything I guess. This is a problem related to the linux based player in the TV, I think, and has nothing to do with Serviio. All in all, I'm happy to be back as a Serviio user. And the resume play function have also been implemented. Very much appreciated, thx for that Zip. :D

Firmware/motherboard ver. of my new TV is; T-VALDEUC-3007.1

Also this new TV have yet to refuse any of the different AVI and MKV files I have tried, so that is also very cool......

Sorry to thread starter if this is a tad offtopic...

The BDP firmware is BSP-C5500WWB-1020.1

Ok, I will try again with the TV (LE37B650T2). I will need to update the firmware first, I have been having issues lately, but that's for another forum to get assistance from!

I will report back as soon as I have some results.

Thanks

ah yer your between a rock and a hard place with a bseries tv and the c5500 BDP neither are great for DLNA functions but i agree with your original finding that teh BDP would be better but then u may still not get all teh function like you will on a C series TV.

OK, I have now installed the latest firmware for the TV (http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/detai ... B650T2WXXU)

I cant get Serviio, I am getting 'request cannot be completed. Media play will return to the main screen...'

The Blue Ray player works still ok.

presentation menu must have 3 main catigories set to "display catigory" or you will get that issue.

OK, getting there....

I managed to isolate the TV on the connected devices in the Status tab and allocated the Samsung TV (B-series) profile.

I checked the TV and I finally got in to see my videos with thumbnails (posters).

I tested it with one movie:

Forward and Rewind: seems to work but a bit erratic and not consistent.

Resume: not available.

I reset the profile to Samsung TV (C/D-series) > did not allow me to view my folders as before.

FFwd and RWD are kinda erratic thats down to samsung's software. Resume wont work on B series TVs
