40c6000 no refresh of deleted/renamed items

Hi.
I don't know if this is a problem of Servio or the TV, but if i delete or rename items (fe. a folder is renamed from abc to abc1), then i see both of them even after refresh, shutdown of service and tv. The renamed one is empty. If i delete the item, the item still stays visibile in the video library.
I have the last (and the only) firmware on tv, and latest 0.52 of servioo.
thx in advance

The original one should disappear eventually - this temporary duplication is caused by the 'delete files' thread being run less frequently than the 'add new files' thread - to save CPU.

This problem has occured for me too lately. Deleted folders keep showing up for more than a week after they are physically deleted.
I can't recall having had this problem using earlier versions of Serviio. (I have 0.5.2 now)

But for me the deleted / renamed (old ones) items are still showing up for over two weeks now (which means for over 10 time shutdown of server and tv).
Something is wrong ... and i'm not sure its the serviio service or the dlna client inside the tv.
How can i test it?
thx in advance

I just checked: folders deleted since over a week is visible on both my TV as well as Blu Ray Player. This indicates the problem resides on the "common denominator", i e the Serviio software. On the other hand, Samsung's firmware have a history of carrying raher obvious bugs (such as 16:9 Pixel Aspect Ratio bug)

Ok, Folders - that's a different matter. There was a bug report regarding this but I could not reproduce it. My previous description was related to actual files.
To remove the folders, try creating them again, add a file to share and remove again.

I followed your advice and now my "ghost-deleted-folders" are gone!
Thanks by the way for supplying the best media server for Samsung hardware! I wasted too many hours trying to get "PC Share Manager" to work...

Do i understand you right. I look the folders which don't exist anymore on the tv, recreate them on the server, put some video files in each one, start "force refresh" in serviio, then delete them.
I will try this.
thx

Yes. Serviio needs to attach some new files agains the folder, and then re-try removing the folder. There seems to be a bug, I'll reopen the ticket.

Does not work for me.
I have the following directory structure fpr movies:
=> movies
==> new
===> movie1
====> x.avi
===> movie2 (renamed from movie2xyz)
====> y.avi
===> movie3 (deleted)
==> series
==> etc.
Now when i recreated movie3 and added a avi movie. I pressed to reindexing in serviio gui. After 10 minutes, i deleted the newly (old one) folder with contents. And repressed indexing. Also tried to restart the computer.
My server is Windows 7 Home Premium x32. Serviio is started as a service. Could it be that UAC might be the problem. Can i somehow see the contents (easy way) of the Derby Database?
thx in advance

there is an opn bug report on this and you will be updated as to its progress in good time.

How do i connect to the database?
Do i use the embeded driver or regular one.
Name of the database, userid, pwd ??
I get the following message when connection (stopped the serviio service first):
- Code:
Product: DbVisualizer Free 7.1.5
Build: #1590 (2011/02/24 17:23)
Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
Java Version: 1.6.0_24
Java Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
OS Name: Windows 7
OS Arch: x86
OS Version: 6.1
An error occurred while establishing the connection:
Long Message:
Failed to start database 'C:\Program Files\Serviio\library\db', see the next exception for details.
Details:
Type: java.sql.SQLException
Error Code: 40000
SQL State: XJ040
1) Nested Exception:
Long Message:
Database at C:\Program Files\Serviio\library\db has an incompatible format with the current version of the software. The database was created by or upgraded by version 10.6.
Details:
Type: java.sql.SQLException
Error Code: 45000
SQL State: XSLAN
I just want to check if the movie database is correct or the tv dlna client is faulty.
thx in advance

For that you can use AV Media Controller from Intel tools.

mrpjotr wrote:How do i connect to the database?
Copy the database "...\Serviio\library\db" into the DbVisualizer installation path "C:\Program Files\DbVisualizer-7.1.5\db"
Add [new driver] using "...\Serviio\lib\derby.jar" file.
Database Type: JavaDB/Derby
Driver (JDBC): [new driver]
Database URL : jdbc:derby:db;create=trueYou will find all tables under APP->TABLE by selecting Data tab onObject Viewer.
But I agree, use AV Media Controller from Intel tools to see if the Library is correct, more simple and is exactly what you TV see.

Thanks that helped.
Ok now i could connect with DbVis and select from app.table.folder ... and i found out that the deleted folders still exist in the table.
Could it be that the Serviio client (Console) runs in the user space and can not update the serviio database because of its location (c:\program files). I have UAC enabled.
The deleted folders definetly exist in the derby database (checked three deleted folders and one renamed).
If so, would it help to install serviio into say c:\serviio and give the folder permission to write recursively to every1.
thx in advance

No, it's just a bug in Serviio - something to do with concurrent access to the DB I suspect.
