Re: Newbie problem

First, I'll say that Samsung does a lousy job with their DLNA support. That said, I have a JU7100 and an NU7100, and both play from Serviio fine. Where are these grayed out listings you are referring to? In the Serviio console, or something on the TV? What model TV is it?

Re: Newbie problem

Sony Bravia model KDL-40EX723. Software version PKG3.211EUA-0104

You go to home and Then media then videos. It used to work fine on serviio v1. Then I started to get a double listing
Seviio (Adminrg-7KHNBMF) computer name
Serviio (Adminrg-7KHNBMF) computer name

If I click on this normally it would go to serviio however now it says "connecting to server" after 5 min "cannot connect to server"

So as there was an upgrade I decided to remove V1 and install V2 however I still get the 2 listings that are greyed out and get the cannot connect to server.

OK, so it was happening before you updated to V2, and the problem is still happening. First, let's clean up your list in the TV. The grayed out listings is the way Sony handles DLNA sources. You have to manually remove them in the Network settings. On my Sony BD player, they are listed under Connection Server Settings if I remember correctly. You have to remove each item individually. Once you've done that, go back into your media and see if Serviio might now be visible. If not, is Serviio visible on anything else on your network? If you have a smart phone or tablet, you could install VLC player and see if Serviio appears in the uPnP listings. If it's missing there, then there's an issue with Serviio on your computer. Either a firewall issue, or something is causing Serviio to fail to start. We'd ned to see the Serviio log to see if it is attaching to your network card correctly.
