BD-D5700 stutters on mkv with 6 channel AC3 audio?

Hi,
I have owned a BD-D5700 for a couple of weeks now, and just switched to Serviio from AllShare. I'm much happier that I was with AllShare. :) I'm not sure why but the player refuses to play Matroska video files that contain 6 channel AC3 audio. 2 channel files play well. Below are two examples, one file which plays (2 channel audio) and one that doesn't (6 channel audio). The 6 channel file stutters constantly. Has anyone else had this problem? Can I get Serviio to transcode the audio for me, or is there a better solution (or none)?

Thanks in advance...

You are right, seems the only difference were
Stream #0.0: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1, s16, 384 kb/s
Stream #0.0: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 384 kb/s

Could you confirm you sued "Samsung TV / player (C/D-series)" profile?
Could you check on Serviio Console if "Stereo" or "Keep Original" will be enabled on transcoding tab?

So this file must be delivered in native format, could you confirm by checking the serviio log file (before enable detailed logging, see my signature links)
Yes, Serviio could transcode audio, but that will be done for all your MKV/H264/AC3, not necessary.

Re: BD-D5700 stutters on mkv with 6 channel AC3 audio?

Hi,
Thanks for responding!

I did use the "Samsung TV/player (C/D-series)" profile - although the status screen shows "unrecognized device" for the device name, but it works anyway.

"Downmix to stereo" is enabled.

I am not sure what to look for in the log file.

Could you try enable "Keep original", restart serviio service or reboot?

Just enable detailed logging (see signature) and post here the file.

The C/D profile transcodes hardly anything, so I doubt the Downmix to Stereo checkbox change will have any effect.

Right, I had forgotten that this option is only used during transcoding.
