Samsung 48h6400 TV and SERVIIO

Hope it's not already been asked.

I installed SERVIIO on my PC in one room, TV is in other....over WIFi connection - router it works but drops and having problems playing movies/tv series.

So i purchased POWERLINE adapter, connected to router and then 2nd powerline adapter in TV Room directly to TV....Internet connection etc works, but SERVIIO gets loss/it's not in MENU/SOURCE anymore....

My primary PC is connected to router, shared maps sorted etc.....why work over WIFI and not over POWERLINE/LAN, makes no sense?

Thank you.

I've never seen an powerline setup, so I have no idea if it has any sort of interface that you can log into for configuration. It sounds like it's not passing the uPnP packets, which is how devices advertise themselves on the network. Sometimes they are labeled differently, with a phrase that ends with "cast".

Re: Samsung 48h6400 TV and SERVIIO

I did a quick search, and powerline is supposed to support uPnP. So the next question is your configuration. Does your TV still have an IP address in the same range as the Serviio PC? That means the first three segments of the IP address are the same, such as 192.168.0.x, with x being a different number for each device.

I bought this powerline SET

https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-network ... 4010p-kit/

will look into it tomorrow :)

Yes, TV is on same IP range....I see it on my router configurarion page.

Re: Samsung 48h6400 TV and SERVIIO

I have sworn off TP-Link for any future purchases. I have a router that supports 802.11ac, and the fastest WiFi speed I can get through it is about 75 Mbps. It's worthless, and while I've had some success with the brand, it's just not very high quality. Based on my personal experience, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't passing uPnP as the standard requires.

If you can ping the TV from the Serviio computer, that shows good TCP/IP connectivity. But if the powerline adapters aren't passing all protocols as they should, that would explain why Serviio isn't appearing.

Re: Samsung 48h6400 TV and SERVIIO

I can ping my TV from SERVIIO's PC.

Pinging 192.168.1.191 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.191: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.191: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.191: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.191: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.191:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 1ms

this is over WIFI.

Re: Samsung 48h6400 TV and SERVIIO

I meant being able to ping it through the powerline connection.
