Samsung 2020 QLED 950TS

Dear All, having a small problem with Samsung QE65Q950TSTXXH and Serviio (on QNAP server)
Problem is that TV have 2 wireless networks and Serviio using random IP from those 2.
and after turning off TV, Serviio resets settings I made for TV and changes the profile to default, but without it, works, but with some issues.
So, every time, before using Serviio, I need to check profile settings and change it to the correct one.
BTW, with "NU" profile everything works fine for Y2020 QLED.
So, question is: is it possible somehow fix profile settings for both IP, so it will not reset after TV restarts?
Attachments: all proofs.

I've never seen a TV (or any other device) with multiple network adapters that couldn't disable or turn one off. Any chance the TV has such a setting? I can't even figure out why it would have two.

Anyway, if you can't turn it off, simply assign the NU profile manually to the second one, and it should remain assigned. So whichever adapter you TV uses at the time Serviio will still use the correct profile for it.

Thanks for your advice!
It`s not possible to use only 1 IP address on TV - checked it`s already
Exactly, the problem is that even if i assign correct profile to both IPs, after TV restarts one of 2 will go to default
And it`s not possible to predict which one.

It shouldn't matter if the TV uses one network connection or the other, as long as they retain the same IP address each time. Once Serviio has detected the IP address, it retains the profile that is assigned to that IP address indefinitely, unless you remove it from the list manually.

If your router is assigning a different IP address each time, you can resolve that by creating an address reservation in your router DHCP settings so that network connection always gets the same IP address. Mine does this be default, so the same device will always get the same IP address, even if it's been months since it was last connected.

I agree, it should be like you mentioned, but it`s not. Could be also TV problem and there is a chance it will be corrected with new firmware, since there was no any updates available yet.
Both IPs I assigned manualy - 105/106, so they are not changing, but anyway as I explained, profile settings resets to default after any action (tv restarts, router restarts, serviio restarts)
Another concern is that Serviio recognize only 1 IP as TV - second one - always shows as unrecognized device

The only solution now - I`m using LAN cable with current TV with single IP

Very strange behavior. And I agree it's doubly odd that the second IP address isn't recognized as the TV. That makes me wonder if that IP address is used for some other internal purpose. I looked up the manual online but it makes no mention of dual wireless connections.

That's what I found:
https://www.mediatek.com/news-events/pr ... fi-6-8k-tv

But not a single word about dual connection. Others wifi6 devices I have - have just 1 IP

Will try to play around - will try to block one of IPs.

Just now updated TV software. Second IP is gone. Problem solved.

After some time it's back to regular problematic behaviour. Probably after another update..
Still have 2 IPs:

IP Address Device Name Profile User
192.168.1.105 Unrecognized device Generic DLNA profile Unassigned
192.168.1.106 QE65Q950TSTXXH Samsung TV (NU-series) Unassigned

I tried to block one of the MAC addresses @ router, but it followed by disconnects and restarts of Serviio service from TV
When disconnects, there are nothing in router log and just one string in serviio log:
2020-08-15 21:31:36,358 INFO [RendererManager] Stored a new renderer: uuid='c54bf0bb-52c8-4acc-93f6-9c7d41d6991b', name = 'Unrecognized device', ipAddress='192.168.1.105', profile = '1', userId = 'null'

If to change profile to Samsung TV (NU-series) it will go back to "generic" after tv restarts
So, question, is it possible to copy all NU-series settings to "generic"? So, I will not care anymore to change profile.

Very strange behavior. Only Samsung can explain it, and fat chance you'll ever get them to provide a factual answer. I've been working with them for close to two months trying to get warranty support, and I'm getting nowhere.

No, you can't copy the NU settings into Generic, because virtually all other profiles use it as a baseline. So it would mess up your NU profile anyway.

Actually I don`t care about the mess - I just need my TV at least to remember the position of the video when stopped.
I use serviio only with a single TV
Another idea - is it possible to force Serviio to recognize my TV for both IPs? As now it`s recognize only 1 IP, but playing thru another, unrecognized
I believe it could help

It's possible a profile adjustment might make it remember where playback stopped, but I would have no idea what it might be. Perhaps someone else can assist.
