Serviio 1.8 can't find Samsung UE46C6700

Hello,

today in the midst of watching a movie I got the message that Serviio (v 1.7) lost the connection.
Since then Serviio can't find the tv again.

Serviio is running on a WHS Server.
I gave up after a while of trying to find the casue and updated to 1.8 but still no change.
I can ping the tv from the server but serviio can't/wont detect it https://19216801.onl/ https://routerlogin.uno/.
The BD player (Samsung C Series as well) is being detected, but I don't want to have to power up the bd to stream a movie to the TV.

Anybody any ideas, why serviio can't find the tv anymore?

The only change of late, I updated the firmeware of my router.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Serviio 1.8 can't find Samsung UE46C6700

It's possible the router update has disabled uPnP packets on your network, so you can look in its settings for that. Microsoft also has a bad habit of resetting their firewall settings with updates, so it's possible the Windows Firewall is blocking Serviio as well. Of course, installing 1.8 should have fixed that. However, the fact your BD player sees Serviio shows that there's no issue with Serviio or WHS, so the problem lies with the TV, or its network connection. If you're using WiFi to connect the TV, the router update might have enabled a security feature that blocks wireless devices from seeing each other. But that would block the BD player as well, if it's also using WiFi.

Samsung does a terrible job with their DLNA support in their TVs. I stopped even trying to use the TV player many years ago, instead first using a Sony Blu Ray player, then moving to a Roku player and an Nvidia Shield. Your BD player likely works far better than the TV, as that is certainly been my experience.

You're also using quite an old version of Serviio. 1.8 was released in December 2016, so approaching 5 years ago. Even staying in the 1.x versions there is 1.10.1, which was released in December 2018. The current version is 2.1. If you're using Serviio Pro, moving to version 2.x requires purchasing a new license.
