Samsung - check your network / which render profil?

Hi,

i need your help.

I switched to a new TV (before I only watched 1080p and that always worked very well).

Now I want to enjoy 4K / HDR too.

The problem is, I can't.

1080p sporadically crashes (sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes after a few minutes)
4k crashes even faster (always after a few seconds).

I then always get the message that I should check my network.
Then I can play the film again - always from the beginning until it crashes again.

4k / HDR Netflix works perfectly, smooth and fast and according to the router my TV is with it 5 GHz, 866 Mbit/s connected.

1.) What can be the reason?
2.) Which rendering profile do I have to select for the Samsung QN95A? There is no profile for that? He always uses "Generic DLNA profile"
3.) Transcoding is there so that if a file cannot be played, then it converts it (e.g. my TV cannot DTS), correct? But for that you also need the right profile?

Many thanks for your help!

Correct, no one has created a profile for that new of a TV. You might try the Samsung NU profile, as it's designed for a Samsung 4K TV. You could also try some of the other 4K TV profiles. There's nothing that says you must use a Samsung profile on a Samsung TV.

Hi,

it seems to be better with the NU profile!
In the logs I received this error message:

  Code:
[RendererManager] Error while retrieving renderer description from http://192.168.178.29:9197/dmr: connect timed out

  Code:
[MultiCastUtils] Host IP address 192.168.178.35 is not available, will try again 9 times

Just a suspicion on my part, but the Host IP address unavailable might be caused by the Serviio computer using a dynamic IP address. It's good practice to use a static IP address on devices that are used in some role as a server. Some network routers will reassign IP addresses constantly, so a static IP could eliminate the issue.

Yes, my router Serviio was given a dynamic IP address. I have now changed that and will continue to pursue this.
Thanks for your approach!

My TV cannot play DTS, Serviio automatically converts these files (transcoding), correct?

I believe I wrote that particular profile (Samsung NU), so yes it should transcode DTS audio. I'd have to look at it again to be sure.
