My device doesn't see Serviio

My new tv Samsung 43QN90CAQD doesn't see Serviio. I tried everything, the settings menu, all the options but nothing to do. The TV is brand new but the Serviio icon does not appear.

First, is Serviio visible by any other player on your network? Such as a Blu Ray player with a DLNA app, an app on a cell phone or tablet? Need to determine if the problem is with Serviio or the TV. Also, it's always possible that the TV doesn't support DLNA, although I typically expect a Samsung to do so. But I do have a Vizio TV that even through it's a "smart" TV it doesn't see my Serviio server.

First of all, thanks for the reply, I have other and more recent TVs where the problem does not exist. I live in Italy and recently there was a national update regarding the reception of TV programs. My old Samsung TV saw Serviio very well, now with this new one nothing to do... It is definitely Samsung that blocks the connection. Opening Serviio, it recognizes the new TV very well but not vice versa... I hope for some solution...

If nothing changed but the TV, that's a pretty good indicator the TV itself doesn't support DLNA. Unfortunately, that's the direction they seem to be moving. Your only solution would be to use an external player, such as a Roku, Nvidia Shield, Fire TV, Apple TV, or one of the generic players that run Android TV.

I wanted to ask you if it is possible to update the DLNA with the new Samsung TVs as it does not recognize Serviio. In the Serviio DLNA list, the QE series of TV models is not there. The model of my TV is Samsung TV Neo QLED QE43QN90BATXZT
Thanks in advance

It's not necessary to have a profile for a specific device to be visible via DLNA. The profile simply tells Serviio when transcoding might be necessary, and how to perform that transcoding. It's next to impossible to create a profile for a device when one doesn't have the device for testing.

I just downloaded the manual for your TV, and DLNA is not mentioned anywhere in the document. It's entirely possible Samsung has removed such functionality. You might see if the VLC player app is available to install, as it should be able to connect to Serviio.

I had been having the same issue with my wired home network. All 3 Samsung TV's were not detecting the PC all of a sudden.
When I disable NordVPN - voila, they all come back! Is there something in the VPN settings that do not work with Serviio?

Yes, your VPN is blocking access from local devices. You'll need to research the settings for your VPN to determine how to allow local access through the VPN firewall.
