Movie file invisible after playing once

Hello,

I've 5 movies which where played only once and disappeared from the list on a Samsung C series. The format is Mkv and mpg as well. i find it very strange that it only happens with these files in exactly the same manner. Both files with these different formats are only played once and all other files are playing fine. Could it be a protection of rights or is there a technical solution?

Thanks in advance.

are they on a local or remote drive?

Both. When played first they were local and later moved to a remote drive.

Is the remote drive configured correctly in Serviio. You have to use the UNC information.

ie //server/home/moltra/movies

Also since you moved it serviio will have to find it and add it to the database again.

and make sure the external drive is always on, otherwise serviio will remove the files from library (unless you disable scanning for files on that shared folder in console)

Hi petr,

Thanks for your answer. I must apologize however for i believe i understood you wrong. I only use a hard drive directly connected to my PC and mistook it as a remote drive. It's a WD MyBook 3.0. I do use a network connection for streaming to the tv and not Wifi but that shouldn't really matter.

This disk is usually online when the computer is powered on, but it does switch to sleep mode after some period of inactivity. Many other files do stay accessible. I have also copied the files back to my pc (D:) but that did not solve it.

Could it perhaps be somewhere in the metadata of the files?

Regards,
Eduard

when it goes to sleep Serviio will not see the files anymore and will think they have been deleted, therefore remove it from the library - unless you deselect the checkbox to scan for library updates next to the shared folder in the console (circle arrow).

You can also look at the log, it should say if files have been removed or not.
