[SOLVED] MKV files get error fileformat not supported

PostPosted: Wed Oct 05, 2011 12:06 pm

Hi Guys.
When trying to play MKV files i get the error "fileformat not supported". I have searched around the FAQ, but havent found the answer yet and hope someone can help me. I have downloaded a new profile.xml which should support mkv files and tried a stunt with the mkvmerge. Still no luck.
Suggestions anyone?

can you enable detailed logging (see signature) and post your serviio.log file.

See signature on how to provide information on file that will not play.

Could you post "ffmpeg -i" result of your mkv file, and also MediaInfo result?

Format profile : High@L5.1

The h264 profile level is too high, not supported by Samsung TV (max H@L4.1), must be transcoded to mpeg2video.

Muxing mode : Header stripping

This one use header compression, not supported by Samsung TV, so must be transcode into MPEG2TS for example, try with TsMuxer...
