[SOLVED] No MKVs are working with Samsung UE46D6500?!

HI Everyone,

I'm having trouble playing any MKV video files with serviio on my Samsung ue46d6500. The Tv recognizes serviio and serviio detects the TV as renderer successfully as: Samsung TV / player (c/d series). I also can play the standard avi files - this worked out of the box, I just added my Video Folder and I didn't change any settings.

Since no MKVs are working I've just picked one as example. Please find attached the metadata. I removed the compression with mkvmerge but it didn't work either...

Nothing obvious to me. What do you mean by "trouble playing"? Whats the error?

jhb50,

thanks for your reply. The error is "Not supported File Format". This appears instantly, in less than a second. So I don't know if he is even transferring data...

Best,
smax

I'm not sure what you mean but if its the profile column in the Status tab it says: Samsung TV / player (c/d series)

Nothing obvious to me. It should play natively with that profile. Shot in the dark..remux with just the vido and audio..drop the others.

The audio track is DTS-MA, I'm not sure if the TV supports that (or just DTS).

Zip & Jhb50,

Thanks for your support! But for some reason, today every mkv worked - i know this sound ridiculous because I havn't changed anything. The only thing that changed was: I resaterted my PC. Maybe the problem was that I've tested too many dlna servers in one session... I don't know... (I didn't run dlna servers parallel.. but I treid them one after the other... so maybe one didn't shoutdown correctly...

Anyway mkvs are working now! Some need to be transcoded and my PC (laptop) is too slow - but thats not an serviio issue... so I'm think about buying an external media player that is able to play *any* video file I provide. Do you guys know such a device that would also work smoothly with serviio?

Btw: serviio was the only dlna server that worked just out of the box for me so keep up the excellent work!

Best,
smax
