Not right now, I think there is a request to do this.

I would put in a request in this group.

Yes...
This is a TV feature (Sony Bravia may support this...I will test to confirm).

Multiple serviio media request is already supported (network bandwidth and cpu load is the limitation )

Zip would need to confirm this, but I do not believe this is possble. I would require the player(renderer/TV/BR) to be able to switch between its audio player and image player, and access the audio and image streams from the server(Serviio) in parallel. AFAICT DLNA does not support this, its either audio or image or video (when one starts, the other shuts down).

I was able to do this using my WII as the player because the WIIMC renderer software supports the multithreading and switching between its music and slideshow players while it accesses the audio and image files on a USB drive or on the PC via SMB, so music can be selected and started and then the slideshow can be run while the music continues.

Serviio however is dependent on the firmware of the player for playback and cannot modify it to do the same.

Perhaps some TV's offer the firmware and server support to do this, but my Samsung D Series and AllShare Server does not.

But we are agreed that Serviio supports multiple renderers simultaneously, no?

I believe so, I think I can have Serviio playing a movie using the TV DLNA, while it plays another movie using the BR DLNA, subject to the capacity of the network.

Which raises the question, "Why can't I have the TV play the slideshow, while the BR plays the Music via my HT amp?"

Let me test that....

We are agreed that the question is
Does Serviio supports multiple resources (video/audio) play simultaneously from the same renderer ?
I will check on my Sony.

Tested:

On Sony Bravia EX500 2010 model, we can select a dlna music file (only one, not playlist or folder), during slideshow of dlna photos.

OK, on Samsung, only option is to display pictures, and can then start a slideshow once the first picture is selected. No audio playback is available.

But, as speculated above, I can start music folder playback using DLNA on my BR, and then start a slideshow using DLNA on my TV and Serviio will support both renderers and serve the slideshow and music in parallel.

There might be a way to make a custom music / picture player for samsung using its SDK.
