Metadata Questions-Confusion

Serviio supports priority-based configuration of metadata extractors. The idea is that all (enabled) extractors will run for each media file and try to get as much metadata as possible. Metadata found by an extractor with higher priority overwrite metadata found by an extractor with lower priority. The current release includes these extractors (by priority):
Embedded metadata
Online metadata sources
Swisscenter
XBMC
Local poster

Can someone explain to me how the above is configured using the console? If I select SwissCentre from the metadata drop down list, does Swisscentre then become the highest priority? Do the other sources still get checked? How do I know if they are all enabled?

Online metadata sources
This is currently only supported for video files. Serviio can retrieve metadata for movies (using http://www.themoviedb.org) and TV series (using http://www.thetvdb.com).

I noticed that http://www.themoviedb.org isn't on the metadata drop down list. Am I missing something here?

Serviio uses a priority-based metadata extraction so that you can choose what metadata should describe your media files (e.g. audio track name, DVD cover, TV series and episodes names, etc.). These include metadata embedded into the media files themselves, locally stored metadata files and metadata that can be obtained online. With this powerful tool you will be able to build your Serviio media library easily and effectively.

Is this configured from the console's Presentation tab?

extracts metadata of your media files the way you want it, incl. embedded metadata tags, local metadata files, online metadata sources

Again, is this configured through the consoles Presentation tab?

Thanks in advance.

You can pick one descriptive metadata extractor (in the dropdown) and then there is embedded extractor and local file cover. These are sorted by proprity with local cover having the highest, then online, then embedded (i think ;-) )

Online metadata sources
This is currently only supported for video files. Serviio can retrieve metadata for movies (using http://www.themoviedb.org) and TV series (using http://www.thetvdb.com).

Online metadata sources in in the dropdown and it includes both of the above websites, one for movies, the other for series.

No, Metadata tab. You cannot explicitly set the priorities, it's driven by dropdowns and checkboxes. priorities are given - see above.

This is more to do with you being able to set a cobination of online metadata, local cover art if you prefer one and embedded metadata (mostly technical) to get the expected result on the screen.

ok thanks. So as long as I select Online Data Sources, I'll retreive info from both those sites.

One last quick question. I have an amber light indicator beside one of my IP devices. I assume green means connected, red means not connected. What does amber mean? Needless to say that particular device isn't connecting to serviio at this time.

Re: Metadata Questions-Confusion

amber means the device is registered but doesn't support functionality to figure out whether it's on or not.
