Just want to report that flac does not seem to transcode for the Samsung d series LCD TVs

Well here is something quite interesting to do with this issue: when I initiate FLAC playback on the LN40D550 using my regular TV remote, everything works perfectly and there is nothing in the log.

Now, when I initiate playback on my Samsung Captivate using BubbleUPNP acting as a DMC, the playback fails and the following is in the logs:

Appears to some sort of issue with the DMC initiating the playback... Let me know if there is any more information I can provide on this. Just want to point out that MP3s seem to work fine when initiated by the DMC.

From my experience I haven't found a single android media controller to be able stream flac's to a sammy TV from serviio.

Maybe setting Samsung profile for DMC could work?

Interesting. Maybe zip can comment on why this is necessary. I would expect serviio to use the profile for the renderer and not the controller.

The incoming traffic for browsing files is coming from the controller's IP. Profiles are linked to IPs. This unfortunately means you will be only able to use one type of device with a controller.

Understandable. Is there no other means to detect what is rendering the content?

I have not read the controller spec yet, but from what data is coming in - no.
