The Samsung firmware will recognise data on fat32 and ntfs file systems on a usb stick. However if the filesystem is fat then it all depends on how the stick is formatted and which OS you are using. Same thing might apply to a Serviio install. I run a 32 bit Linux install and I have no problem sending larger .vob or whatever files to a Samsung C series. To be specific I concatenated a series of vobs from dvds of the series HBO's Rome, the BBC's Elizabeth R and I Claudius to make the single disks into individual large .mpeg files. See this post.
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=131643 about how to do it on Linux.
So if you are trying to play large .mpeg or h.264 files of over 4 gig then it is not Serviio that is preventing the large sized files from being visible on a Samsung Allshare client. Are you trying to send from a dos file system... fat partition using WIndowsXP 32 bit by any chance?
Windows XP 32 bit can see but cannot transfer files larger than 4 gig to and from from a fat file system...however Linux 32 bit can because it uses a different file system read method that will read larger file spaces even to and from a fat file system. I have had trouble transferring large mpeg files to an old WinXP 32 bit computer with a usb stick for this reason. To be precise my good old IBM T42 laptop would not do files over 4 gig before I installed Linux. I now use it to stream content to my C series Samsung. Now it accepts, creates and even sends large 5-10 gig files perfectly with Serviio.
In fact tuning up this 32 bit laptop up with a really good Linux install has saved me some serious cash considering I bought it from a government clearing house for 75 Canuck bucks....

plus tax

Ps I am currently serving up a 6 gig mpeg with dts 5.1 audio with serviio to my allshare as I edit this post. Some drop because the T42 has an older a/b/g wifi card but if I hook it up cat 5 there is absolutely no problem....might even shop around and see if there is an n card available for this laptop somewhere... But my other atom based server with an N usb stick wifi has absolutely no trouble serving up huge 720p files with Serviio and surfing the net at the same time,,with either Linux or Window7 64
