Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

Good News.

Seems I was able to finally find a way to make it work.
After checking the logs, it comes out that it doesn't matter which Samsung profile I applied to the TV it always took from the general DLNA profile, since there was no RTSP container matches in the Samsung profiles. I copied the online transcoding from the general to the C/D section and added the maxVBitrate to it.
Now it works.

</Video>
<Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" maxVBitrate="20000">
<Matches container="rtsp"/>
</Video>

For those of you that had the same problem, try add it under your C/D profile and play with the maxVBittrate (decrease) in case you still have some issues. Also, don't forget to restart the service to be on the safe side.

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

It would not have used the generic profile since you have an online section in your c-d profile, which means it would have only used the flv rules in your c-d profile.

Both the stock and my profile only remux online H264.flv files, so if your D model cannot play H264.flv natively they will not work. (Note my model does play them natively but it is not documented in the manual)

Could you try this? It should transcode all local and online flv to mpeg2video. I think this is just the stock profile with just the original commented line removed.

  Code:
      <Transcoding>
         <!-- Transcode all h264 video with HIGH/MAIN > Level 4.1 on MPEG-TS stream with MPEG2VIDEO and ac3 audio transcoding -->

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

I tried but it doesn't work. As far as I understand, the streaming container is rtsp and the format is MPEG_PS_NTSC (or PAL), according to the mediaformatprofile the mime-type is mpeg, thus once I try to see the rtsp link, it looks for mpeg/rtsp match container and transcode it. Am I missing something?

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

No I think it will (obviously does) detect the rtsp container, but I would have expected that profile to detect the flv stream first and apply that transcode rule as it does for me. Could you try it again and send me the debug log so we can figure out why it works for me but not for you?

It should not be necessary to add it to c/d profile, as the generic one forces inheritance of the rtsp block (forceInheritance="true"). That way this forced transcoding config will be added to the c/d online transcoding config (with the lowest priority), and it should therefore be used.

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

Please clarify..if I have a local or online transcode flv rule in the c-d profile and an inherited rtsp rule in the generic..which rule will rtmp's use and which rule will rtsp's use.

I assume the rtmps will use the local or online transcode flv rule in c-d and rtsp's will use the rtsp rule in the generic, but if so why did the above use need to add the rtsp rule to c-d before it would work?

My Samsung also play natively H264.flv (tested via USB with this file).
But I check with your C-D profile the RSS [LiveFeeds_HD_ChannelsRTSP.rss] but no luck :cry: the Codec error still pop up.

Well... I check the solution posted by by iplem (adding the rstp protocol to the Online transcode section of my C-D profile) and now works! so the forceInheritance="true" is not working right now...

RTSP is (in the sense of FFmpeg) a container, so it'll only be caught if you specify container="rtsp" ... therefore your flv based matchers are not invkoed. RTMP, however, is represented as flv/mp4 containers and there your flv matchers will work - just as you suggest.

From the previous logs you can see that rtsp was transcoded as defined in the Generic profile. The only difference I see is the bitrate constraint, so maybe that 'fixed' the stream for the TV. Might be related to this particular stream only though.

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

The reason I added under c/d profile and not under the general is because I didn't want the bitrate to be widely used, but for the specific TV only. Actually, would be interest to have a way to match not only a rtsp container but a specific link (regex), so we can fix it for some links and leave others without the bitrate.

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

Iplem, Could we get this thread back on track please. We are attempting to find out why some D550's play rtsp and some do not.

I had asked "Could you try it again and send me the debug log so we can figure out why it works for me but not for you?" but have not had a response. Since the rtmp links are down again, I may have to revert to rtsp so you D550 owners will be SOL if we don't figure this out.

Foxmul, please post your problem in a more appropriate thread, or open a new one.

Foxmul, this message mean that the link is not working, this is not related to this thread

Jhb50, I will rerun again once I can and take logs, my guess though, that it is related to the source distance and line quality. Thats why the bitrate seems to fix.

Re: Samsung D550 Dont Playing Video Stream

I have an LN40D550. I can confirm similar issues as reported by iplem and cartucho. Using iplem's solution (I only added the max bitrate to the generic profile), it seemed to correct the "codec not supported" issue. In addition, I can report that before applying the solution, under the HD Channels livefeed, I was only able to see "Home & Garden" in Serviio. After the applying the solution, the other channels became available (e.g. Animal Planet, Comedy Central, etc).
