Hi there,

My first post on the forum... I hope I'm posting in the right place!

I've installed Serviio 1.0.1 on one of my networked PCs running XP, to stream my media library around the house...

I have a Samsung B series in my bedroom which seems to work fine over a wired connection... I also have an XBox360 in another room which also appears to work fine over a wireless connection... The problem I have is in the lounge with my Samsung ES8000... The TV sees the Serviio server on start up, but disconnects no matter what I'm doing within the first five minutes... I've seen the posts suggesting it's a problem with FFMPEG and I have replaced the exe with the latest version, but it hasn't fixed the problem... As I say, I can connect to the server and simply navigate the directory structure, the TV still disconnects after 3-5 minutes, as if it is a time-out of some description... I usually run the TV connected to a wireless access point, but I've also tried it directly wired to the main router in my office, with the same result... For information, Netflix works fine without any streaming issues, so I don't suspect the network...

Serviio log file attached in DEBUG mode whilst navigating the directory structure on the TV during this latest disconnect... I hope it sheds some light on the problem...

Regards,

You should have created a separate topic.

Is 192.168.0.230 your IP address? It looks like Serviio is having problems multicasting its presence to the network which might cause the disconnects. Is multicast enabled on your network adapter?

Also run this program and post the results: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3923&hilit=ListNic#p26629

Apologies for not creating a separate topic last time...

Yes, I've given the PC running Serviio the static IP address of 192.168.0.230 on my network... How do I check/set if multicast is enabled? I had a look around the network adapter's properties, but nothing was obvious... If this was the problem though, would I not also be having problems throughout the house? As I mentioned, the Samsung B series TV is working fine in my bedroom, as is an XBox360 in another room...

I've run the ListNic utility and attached the output...

Regards,

Up for this. I am getting the same exact problem. The crash/reboot happens, as described by OP, near the end of the youtube video. I checked the logs as well and there's nothing. I raised log4j's log level to ALL and restarted the service and reproduced the problem. The log does not show any exception or stack trace though. The crash is consistent and it does not seem to matter which client I use as I tried it with at least 3 clients(Samsung D series TV, ServiiGo on a Nexus and a DLNA client on a laptop) and had the same result. Perhaps there is a gap in the logging or the java process terminated and log4j was not able to log anything? Anyways, let me know if you want me to try something to help debug and fix the issue. Thanks

Hello, I hope you guys understand me, do not speak English, I tried youtube plugin, I have the problem that takes time when the connection is broken (2-3 minutes), I notice that this happens when the video finishes buffering, I managed to stabilize the connection of video using ffmpeg restricting BW whit NetLimiter to 115kB, with this I could see the video and It cut 10 seconds missing. The ideal is to find another solution but unfortunately I do not know programming, so I hope you can solve this. The problem occurs on my samsung TV 6030. Could perhaps improve it if we can force the transcoding but not if it is now or as forcing trascoding. If anyone knows Spanish, we will understand better.

Thanks

I have an F8000 and an ES8000 and I also have a D5500 bluray.
Serviio disconnects after watching a movie for 10-20 minutes. This happens ONLY on the ES8000.
So the problem is with the ES8000 and serviio.
With Samsung Allshare there are no disconnects. So it's something overlooked in serviio.
