Some .mkv files unrecognised.

Some, not all, .mkv files show as "unrecognised file format" and will not play. I did a search for the "log4j.xml" to help with debugging but it does not exist on my PC. I am using windows 7, Intel CPU 650@3.2ghz, 8g memory, Samsung BD player connected via Homewire.
Any help appreciated.

Could you provide information about these files format ?
http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=file_np (ffmpeg -i <file>, and MediaInfo tools result in text format)

It seems that the mkv container is "wrecked".
Try to remux the file with MkvMerge tool :
