Recommended Samsung Galaxy S3 profile?

Hi

I tried connecting directly to Serviio through the default Video Player without much success. First the DLNA part of the phone couldn't locate my pc as a unit at all, after enabling streaming in WMP11, Serviio showed as a remote unit in the video player, but no library files were listed.

So I installed BubbleUPNP as an intermediate DLNA server on the S3, and it recognizes Serviio and streams from it to a video renderer of my choice (MX Player).
However, when I play large or high resolution files, I have bandwidth problems, skipping takes forever and sometimes freezes the whole movie, and sometimes the movie won't start. 480p and/or short series seems to be no problem.

So I'm wondering if it's easy to create a Serviio profile that will downconvert to 480p or something like that?

Don't you need to be a serviio 1.0 beta tester for that to work ?

Yes you will have to wait, shouldn't be long now though.

Don't think zip has said yet. There are some pretty cool features though so it will be worth it.

However, 1.0 will allow you to setup a profile to transcode videos to a lower resoultion for use over DLNA which won't require the PRO edition.

I think you can do that with 0.6.2 Just use the Android profile that I posted earlier and add the transcoding rules to lower the bit rates.

Not quite the same, yes the bitrate will be lowered, but you could get lots of artifacts due to the bitrate being too low compared to the resolution.

I forgot about that.. you would need the "scale" support in 1.0!

Tanks for the profile, solved my problems . I measured the wifi to only 11 mbps here, some serious interference from the cell tower on our roof.

No, I just changed it to your bubble upnp profile. Works without artifacts, thanks!
