where is the message? On your Mac OS? If yes, post the log. Also what is your OSX version?

Hi zip,
the message appears on TV not PC
I Mac OS X 10.8 (12A269)
TV is Samsung UE40D7000 software version T-GAPDEUC-1025.1,BT-G
There is nothing on PC but if I close Serviio and reopen then it runs again but only for about 5 mins.

Is that with every video or just some? Does it happen with music too?

It`s the same with all music & video whatever playing it just shuts off. message on tv saying it has stopped working and nothing on PC. the serviio window is still there and it is green for the TV. If i refresh or reload it starts again but only for about 15 mins.

I wonder if it's something to do with 10.8 OSX. Try to change the settings as described in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6873

I tried the following but it si still shutting off after 15 mins.

Mac OS X (10.8) contains a facility called the Gatekeeper. The default setting for this (in the "Sysyem Preferences", "Security&Privacy) is as shown below.

Allow applications downloaded from: • Mac App Store and identified developers

This means that the application must have been downloaded from the Mac App store of from an identified developer. Otherwise, it will not be allowed to execute.

I was forced to choose "• Anywhere" for acceptable application sources.

This is not desirable even though that is how things were before OS X 10.8. I hope the folks at serviio.org can become "identified developers" to keep users from determining why version 1.0 won't run. I found the reason but most will not.

solution found.
It has nothing to do with gate keeper.
The time out relates to energy saver settings which puts the computer to sleep after 15 mins if not in use.
Go system preferences then energy saver.
Untick first box `put hard disc to sleep when possible` then move the top slider to far right to never then click OK.
