Galaxy Note 2

Hello all,

I am a complete novice / idiot when it comes to network things, I can strip and rebuild a PC quite easily but anything network related has always out foxed me.
Had a quick look around using search of the forums for the Galaxy Note 2 (and others) problem but not found an answer that I understand, something about opening ports...
MY x-box, TV (Panasonic VT5065), PS3 all work fine but my new phone does not.
Please help in simple (think real idiot) terms. I have a UK sky ISP and have never had to even sign into the router to set up let alone change any settings so I have no idea on the UI in it.
Many thanks.
Lepak.

You'll need to know how to access and configure your router. Of course, you need to know the ip, username and password. For more help, you may want to post your router model. I believe the ports are 23424 and 23423.

it's a sagem router, managed to login to it now got a barrage of settings to look at.
did a quick google for 'sky router port forwarding' done that...
still not picking up content, SEEING serviio but not content.
Set those using the sky guide still no luck.

Not sure of the model you have, but the below might help.

New Galaxy series starting from Galaxy S 3 doesn't work with serviio. I suspect that the apps (Gallery, Video Player) expect to DLNA server to display the appropriate folder once contacted but serviio always offer the 3 folder choice.

However, you can still access serviio if you use 3rd party player like iMediaShare.
