MKV Time info / Fast forward Samsung LE40D550

i have a Samsung LE40D550.
I've had problems with FF and very strange time infos (550h+) on .mkv files.
I've read about problems with MKV problems and Samsung TVs on other forums and figured i should rename the file to .avi to let it play with the windows media player. (so i could right click on the file and send the audio/video to my TV)
Checked that and it worked. The funny thing is this also makes serviio working with the files. It now shows the right Time info und FF works.
In Short: just rename any .mkv to .avi
