Serviio service intermittently works with E Series TV

Since upgrading to version 1.2 (and 1.2.1) I have had intermittent serviio service. My E series Samsung TV rarely finds the serviio server. Although I have checked the Ip on the Tv and it's the same on listed in the serviio settings.

I worked perfectly using 1.1 and am not sure of the problem since then. I have tried to install 1.1 over the top (which I have) but it still does not work again. I'm not sure of the problem. If I have played the file and it's listed under recent I can still play it, so it looks like it's being connected although I can't get anything new unless I'm lucky at the time that it works. I tried refreshing and restarting it and it doesn't work.

I can post a log but unsure of what file this is? Would you prefer me to upgrade back to 1.2.1 to see the files first?

I also followed the steps to change the xml file to bebug and restart service. It didn't seem to produce a new log file. All it did was produce log.ctrl and log.dat files when opened were a bunch of garbled text.

I should also mention I got a new router at the same time (only just realised this could be an issue after reading the forum a bit more.

there was another guy posting last week with very similar issues, he was able to resolve it by changing the channel on his router.

Hmmm I havent changed anything and it's decided to work for one episode of a show I'm streaming.

Any other things I should do to determine the problem?

I'm also trying to find that original post you're referring to?

It works perfectly when streaming to my ipad. I'm using the airplayer app and it finds serviio and plays fine, even though my TV can't find it.

I can also watch the whole file (regardless if serviio can be found) if I've played it for a few seconds and it's in my recently watched list. So it seems to connect, just still unsure why it will only work intermittently???

I had similar problem and reserving adress ip for my pc and tv in my router DHCP options helped. The problem is that if u reseet your router pc and tv change their ips and cant find each other so they have to be bound to one ip.

This didn't seem to be the problem, I tested this theory first. Serviio was bound and the IP for the Tv listed on serviio was correct so there were no issues with this. Even though they were all correctly listed it wasn't being sent properly.

Even then when it works it does work for a while, cuts out then can't be found when nothing else has changed
