External HD isnt recognized

Recently purchased the Sony KDL 55EX64O SERIES and trying to connect my Itunes library storage _ Western Digital MYBOOK terrabyte HD.
The partitioned drive is connected to my mac book pro through fire wire. I have tried many setting and have not been able to get access to the files? The drive from what I read is DLNA compliant what am I missing?
I added the local drive /volumes ; and have checked all the boxes. Folders show up but don't seem to pertain to anything from my HD
Any direction very much appreciated.
