Connection problem

Hello, after some time since the last update or something else, not sure, my serviio console/tv loses connection, I mean it works ok after a reboot, however later, if the pc is switched on the whole day,
after some time there is no more connection with the tv, restarting serviio console/server does not help. only a reboot works it out..
Sony Bravia KDL40EX503, latest serviio version

p.s. please also advice if i need to check/change my profiles config for the latest version on a Sony profile? or does it update automatically with a newer version update?
as I remember I have been editing something manually a year ago.. probably worth changing/checking it now...?

Does your PC go to sleep at any stage during the day? If so, its a known issue - read this post: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8393#p67123

profiles.xml is not automatically updated with any changes - it is replaced by the new version. The old version is saved as profiles.xml.bak so you can see where your manual changes are. I always comment my manual changes with my name so they are easy to find - for just this occurrence. Don't simply copy the whole profile section - just re-do your changes - otherwise you may miss out on any improvements to the profile.

DenyAll, thank you for youe reply. it all makes sense. I will follow your advice.

Just last clarification, if profile is update with a new one, it should include all the changes right? so I do not need to update in manually any more...?

I mean it would include latest update for my sony, which is reported in the topic in this section of the forum..

I don't know the process by which a profile change listed in the forum makes it into the next release of Serviio. Probably just zip reviewing them. Perhaps someone else may be able to enlighten.

Many of the changes in the forum are specific to one model or another and may not be appropriate for the "official standard" profiles (as these tend to serve a range of models). I always check to see whether my manual changes have been incorporated when the release comes out and if not, simply re-do them (I only have a few so its not hard to check, particularly if you comment them to make them easy to find) .

Normally Illico and Patters are monitoring the Sony prfile changes and let me know if any changes should make it to the release.
