Sony BDP S790 - some files can't FF or Rewind?

Hello,
Since the last Serviio update most files work well including aspect ratio and subtitles,
however, some files, play well but for some reason you can't skip forward or back...

I did update the player to the latest firmware, after making sure it doesn't have Cinovia, please advise - thanks!

Here is teh file's media info:

This file should be delivered in native format with Sony BDP -Sx90 profile.
So there is something with the mkv container.

Could you try with MkvToolnix tool to rebuild your mkv file with the following option enabled:

With mkvmerge GUI, choose muxing from the Menu bar and pick the option Add command line options. You can then add the --clusters-in-meta-seek option from the list. unfortunately, you cannot save these options so you have to remember to do this each time you remux an .MKV.

EDIT: Read that :

Hi,
I tried remuxing a different file with these settings and it still doesn't work, even with version 1.31...

Any ideas are welcome!

Could you try to remux the file without PGS subtitle track?

Thanks,
I've done it with no subs but still no luck, can't FF or rewind, Servvio just jumps to the next file... This happens with loads of files, BTW.

Many thanks for your assistance, keep it coming...

I have a few which cause my Sony to crash if I FF/RW but will otherwise play back. I have tried remuxing and removing the troublesome Substation Alpha subs but no solution. It must just be some are encoded. I don't want to upgrade Firmware version because I am worried about Cinavia (even though it's possible I already have it...)

If it helps I updated my firmware and didn't get Cinavia, yet... ;-)

Hi BloomBloom,

I had this problem on my S590. FF and RW wouldn't work on many files, and subtitles wouldn't always work either. I found that if I remux the files with mkvmerge v5.5.0, they all work perfectly. I've tried to figure out exactly what's causing the problem, but I can't pinpoint it. As narrowly as I can tell, it's probably something to do with the writing libraries. It seems to me that any version of mkvmerge that uses libebml v1.2.3 + libmatroska 1.3.0 will create file that works fine.

Thanks Mate,
I downloaded the 5.5.0 version (and a Gui), but can't really use it... it simply breaks the file apart to different streams where I obviously need them together... any advice on how to use it would be appreciated - Thanks!
