You've changed the formatting there - I'm pretty sure Serviio will reject the file if comment tags span multiple lines.

Ah, maybe it's only if you try to comment out sections that contain other tags.

The actual problem is that when playing the specific MP4 files (HDlite type). The sound plays intermittently.

  Code:
V:\Movies (HDL)\The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010) (HDL)>ffmpeg.exe -i "The Sorcerer's Apprentice.mp4"
FFmpeg version SVN-r23012, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers
Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice.mp4':
  Duration: 01:49:03.01, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 2953 kb/s
    Stream #0.0(und): Video: h264, yuv420p, 1280x528 [PAR 1:1 DAR 80:33], 2547 kb/s, 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 66893 tbn, 47.95 tbc
    Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, 5.1, s16, 402 kb/s

If there is anything I can try to make these files play without a hitch it would be great. (Video plays perfectly using the latest profile in this Topic)

This mp4 file must be transcoded to mpegts with ac3 audio
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>
Audio stuttering, is probably due to audio bitrate issues: http://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/is ... bitrate-to
We can try some test to confirm :
Could you provide a detailed logging file when you start to transcode this mp4 file?

Problem solved in Serviio Version 0.5!!! :-) I tried playing the same file again, using the BDP-S470 and it works like a charm!

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

There is an issue with FFmpeg failing to transcode multi-channel aac audio down to two channels. The Sony BDP profile for 0.4 was transcoding audio to ac3 for mp4, since I didn't think you could specify a target container without at least one codec. You can get around this by selecting Audio channels: keep original on the Transcoding tab in Serviio console. However, I modified the Sony BDP profile for 0.5 to keep audio transcoding to a minimum precisely to avoid stuff like this.

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

FYI: I have some non-standard mkv files with mp3 audio track (remuxed to work with samsung b550 tv). In order to have sound in them on sony bdp-s370 I've to add this line in profiles.xml
  Code:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
            <!-- Sony BDP requests all formats except mpeg-ps and mpeg-ts in 32KB chunks which works badly over wifi -->
            <!--
               remove all matroska transcoding matches if you stream over a wired connection and want mkv subtitle support and alt audio
               tracks
            -->
            <Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
            <Matches container="matroska" aCodec="mp3" /> <!-- for mkv wtih mp3 audio -->
</Video>

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

Q1: What part of .5 USA profile do I need to modify so that MKV is not transcoded? MKV worked fine with the .42 profile.

Q2: I turned off transcoding and this file is not supported. How can I play w/o transcoding?
  Code:
Input #0, avi, from '\conviction.avi':
  Metadata:
    encoder         : VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 (build 2540/release)
  Duration: 01:47:05.01, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 918 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 616x320 [PAR 1:1 DAR 77:40], 23.98 tbr,
23.98 tbn, 23.98 tbc
    Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 129 kb/s

Thanks

Remove lines with mkv container matches
Try this

Could you check the detailed logging file, when "conviction.avi" file will be stream? which MediaFormatProfile serviio use?

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

Q1 Removing the MKV containers fixed MKV playing. thanks. Is the only way to play MP4 is to transcode?

Q2 Here is the log. It is using the correct profile. My profiles xml only has profile 1 and 11 , I deleted all others.

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

Hello all,

I want to see if I'm missing something. I've installed Serviio and applied the Sony update for the US player for version 0.5. I have stopped the server, then stopped the Serviio service under Windows 7 and restarted. Everything starts fine. However, two things. It misidentifies my US player as an EU player. Second, I notice that no matter what changes I seem to make to Profiles.xml in the config folder, the options available under the console don't appear to change. I tried adding a 'profile 14' and I tried adding the phrase '-S370' to the US profile...but neither shows up as an option in the console.

Is that normal behavior? Have I missed some step to configure it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

My US player is also identified as EU. I just removed all profiles but 1 and 11 not to get mixed up.

I tried that, but then the Serviio service would stop after I started it.

Ah! According to the log, it needs the profiles in numerical order. I'll need to renumber them. I'll try that.

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

Mine works fine with 1 and 11 only.
Make sure you move the detection tag to profile 11.
  Code:
<Detection>
         <HttpHeaders>
            <X-AV-Client-Info>.*Blu-ray Disc Player.*</X-AV-Client-Info>
         </HttpHeaders>
      </Detection>

and make sure you don't have comments inside comments:
  Code:
<!--  <!-- --> -->

The log file will show you why it did not start.

No need to have them in order, the ID just has to be a unique number

Thanks.. The Sony's US WebSite has the following statement:

" IMPORTANT: The Network Upgrade for the BDP-S270 and BDP-370 will be available starting February 18, 2011. "

It did, I misread it. I left in an option that depended on a deleted profile. I corrected it and the server started properly.

However, still no luck. The same default choices still show up in the console, even though the log shows that it only read in the profiles that I left in (sony bd-us, ps3, xbox and generic DLNA). In the drop-down box, it still shows the same 13 default choices. Is it actually applying correctly?

Here's the snippet from the log last night, below. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: [Profile] Sony BluRay Players (BDP-S370)

Hi,

i´ve two questions. (iwant to buy the s-370 EU-Modell)

Is the 60hz problem (MKV stream over Network - LCD show 1080p/60hz instead of 24Hz) still there ?

Did the S-370 show the embedded subtitles (stream Network / serviio)?

Thank you
