ps3 mutes with message when playing mkv dts

Hi guys I notest on my ps3 when playing a mkv 1080p dts Aldo it will be transcoded a message pops up while playing the movie saying thats the audio is not legal and will mute for about a minute and it keeps doing it the hole movie

Sounds like Cinavia to me. This copy protection scheme was implemented on PS3 quite a while ago now.

Cinavia doesn't seem advanced at all. My first guess was an audio tone outside the range of hearing. Apparently I was right for once. If you can somehow put in an low-pass filter on the audio as the media is being transcoded, it shouldn't recognize the protection anymore.

This is pretty easy to do in Windows with the ffdshow audio decoder configuration utility that comes with K-Lite Codec Pack. Set FIR filter to "lowpass" at 7000 Hz. You can also use an equalizer, and set all the bands above 7000 Hz or so to zero.

Hardly a protection.

It would seem Serviio doesn't use the system codecs, so this method doesn't work.
