[SOLVED] Please help

Please can someone help me - I really am a technophobe.!
I have a sony Bravia which was all working perfectly with serviio until I had to change/upgrade my laptop
It's the same make (hp) as my old one and except it now has windows 8 not 7
Serviio installed fine - it even links fine to my Bravia, for the first 5 mins ! I then get "connection to server failed"
Or "cannot access the server, please check the server settings"
If I then check network status on the Bravia it often (but not always says)
Wireless device = OK
Local access = Failed
Internet access = Failed

If I then scan for network my router and password are there - if I scan and connect
Status all comes back to OK ???

On my PC the Bravia is green ! All access to files and folders is fabulous when connection is good (for 5mins)
I have entered all ip addresses on the whitelist of my firewall (AVG)

Please help - I have read through loads of posts but don't understand a lot of the jargon !! I need plain English !

If I could call someone or they call me I'm sure this could be sorted in seconds - I just don't get why it all worked perfectly on my last laptop and now drops off all the time

I'm SOOOOOOOOOO frustrated - please help

There is a problem with your wifi connection between the Bravia and your router.

Have you tried turning your firewall off & see if it does the same,
sounds like a security issue, Avast is another Antivirus you could try.

Can anyone help me with the settings - is it my firewall or my router
Serviio consol - all green
Router IPN on firewall white list.
How can router/Bravia be the problem if it all worked fine before ?.

I called my provider and they fixed the settings - it seems to be better
They told me give it 2-3 days, but it should have fixed the problem xxx
