[SOLVED] Sony Tv can't find Serviio

PostPosted: Tue Jan 25, 2011 5:14 pm

Help please. I have installed Servio on my PC and set up music and image content for sharing. I would like to stream this content from my windows PC to my Sony bravia. I can connect the TV to internet but when I search for servers Serviio does not appear in the servers list. My network set up is PC cabled to wireless router - router cabled to devolo home plug - devolo homeplug cabled to Sony. I have set bound ip address to that of the PC.

Is 192.168.1.254 the IP of the PC? If yes, there is already something blocking UDP 1900 port on that address

I am sure that 192.168.1.254 is the router.

So put the IP of your PC into the Bound IP address field (and don't forget to click Save)

It's not using it, try restarting Serviio, then open console and make sure it displays the proper IP in the field

Hey zip thanks for taking the time to try and solve this issue. Due to work etc. I haven't had the time to deal with this wee problem. However, yesterday I shut off the mains electricity while I replaced a light switch. Last night I switched on the TV to watch a programme on BBCi Player, guess what appeared in the video options? Serviio.
So if any one else has a similar setup to mine and can't get Serviio up and running, try switching off the computer and the sockets with the router and the home plug lan addapters in them, then power it all back up and see if it works. It seems to have worked for me as I have made no changes to my network settings.

Thanks

Well, this happened to me and now I cannot see Serviio. I've lost power for a little bit and exactly the reverse. I see Windows Media player/server but not Serviio.

This home plug lan stuff is more trouble than its worth, a ' Decent ' wireless N router will perform better, although will cost you abit more.
