Hi i am searching the way to stream Videos on QNAP TS-421 on my SONY BRAVIA TV 46HX855 . using serviio server running on my desktop PC.
on website FAQ there is written to write address of the server with UNC path, (e.g. \\server\folder)).
So i use it, now the remote folder is avalaible on TV, but folder is empty ! no video shown.
The only way to stream videos is to copy files from NAS to local folder of pc.

p.s. i wish do not install any qpkg onto my nas.

is there a solution to see the videos on Sony tv?

thanks

This is due to access rights. The folders on your NAS must allow access to the Serviio Service - see http://www.serviio.org/component/conten ... e?id=21#q5

You can either change the permissions on your NAS folders to allow the Serviio Service access to the folders (how to do depends on the NAS and for this you will need someone that has a QNAP to assist, sorry, I haven't one) or change Serviio to log in using user credentials that your NAS already knows.

To do the latter option, give this a try: run services.msc and select the Serviio Service. On the Log on tab, change the "Log on as" to be a user that the NAS already knows (as you can presumably browse your NAS, try your Windows User Name and your password). Save and restart.

Hi @DenyAll

many thanks, after several tries i got it !
here how:
Created a standard user on windows, Created same user on the NAS, with granted RW permission on a Multimedia folder where are located films pictures audio...
changed log-on credentials of Serviio service with new user and works... now Serviio is going to add all my multimedia files to the list ! very fine !

But i don't know why my windows admin user , created same on the nas don't work.. have to be created another user... doesn.t matter...final results counts.
