What is the profile used ?
What is your region us, uk, etc?
You can edit sony profile, and remove DAR option,then restart serviio service or reboot and retry.

I suppose its about 2013 profile...
- Open ./serviio/config/profiles.xml file (make a backup before) with text editor (notepad++ is good)
- Search "sony2013" section
- Remove all DAR="16:9" occurrences (3) in this profile section
- Save
- Restart serviio service or reboot PC
- Retry with 2013 profile selected in serviio console

I had no luck with removing DAR.
m2ts format gives me full screen on my Sony. Can I make Sony 2013 profile to transcode mkv to m2ts?
thanks

Could you add this custom profile and select it when you want to play your video in full screen?
(copypaste just before the last </Profiles> element, save and restart serviio service or reboot PC)
- Code:
<Profile id="sonyFIX" name="Sony Bravia TV (2013) *" extendsProfileId="sony2013">
<Transcoding>
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" maxVBitrate="17000" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9">
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>
</Transcoding>
<OnlineTranscoding>
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9">
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>
</OnlineTranscoding>
</Profile>

Ok, so I think that the problem of "full screen" come from your mkv files. Your MKV embedded an AVC/h264 video track with a resolution not compliant.
Many time rip process removes black box from original video and changes the resolution.
So with this custom profile, all your movies will be transcoded to a mpegts/mpeg2video with a good resolution.
For subtitle, you can try to enable subtitle burning on serviio console.
Embedded subtitles from your mkv will be extracted and burned in the video stream during transcoding.

Hello again.
What about 3d movies?
2d files transcoded to m2ts play full screen but when i play 3d files (usually mkv or mp4 16:9) transcoded (transcoded or not) to tv or wdtv, i get black bars. Any solution?
Thanks again for your help !!!!!

Sorry I don't have 3D files and 3D TV, so I have no experience about that...

Any suggestion?
