Serviio

My setup consists of a Sony Bravia KDL-50W815B and an iMac running Mavericks and Serviio 1.4.1.2. Latest Java installed. Serviio apps are added in firewall.
The problem is that sometimes it works and some times it doesn't.
Is there a sequence of switching on devices? I mean should I turn on the TV first or the Serviio server first?
At different times I get one of the following on the console:
a. No devices listed
b. TV listed with red dot
c. TV listed with amber dot
d. TV recognised as a KDL-50815B with a green dot (Hurrah!)

I tried stopping/starting the server, quitting Serviio and restarting, Restarting the Mac, restarting the TV (cold start). Results are inconsistent.

I have attached the latest Serviio.log. At the moment no devices are listed. (I can still ping the TV)

An interesting twist is that I have a Yosemite beta installed on the same Mac and Serviio works perfectly. I guess that rules out any hardware problems.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Update:

I've just rebooted in Yosemite and sure enough it was working, for a while. then it stopped. There's a red dot next to the TV. Funnily enough I could still play any of the movies shown on the TV Thumbnail list.

Update 2:

Installed PS3 Media Server and it works. However I think I still prefer Serviio.

Probably because devices IP address change after severals power -on-off.

I suggest to fix IP address of all your devices according to there MAC address...to do that: check your router settings, what is your router model?

The router is a Thomson TG 585 v8. The DHCP server is set to always assign the same IP address for each device.

Also, how do you explain that PS3 media server works?

Do you try to fix serviio server IP address (bound IP on serviio console) ?

Yes I did. Made no difference.

I plugged in my old No Name Made in China media player and both the Serviio and PS3 servers were visible within 30 seconds.

The Sony insist on not connecting to either server now. They are listed but cannot list items.

Occasionally I get a list of Thumbnailas on The Serviio window on the Sony Medi Player page. I can play the movies shown there but if I select 'More' it does not connect.

This is getting on my nerves now.

Ok. Eventually the servers become visible on the Sony (Serviio- still showing amber, PS3 - showing unknown renders and TVMOBili).

I play a movie, stop it, go out to the Sony Media player home screen and go back in, and it does not connect.

This is happening with all 3 DLNA servers. It is too inconsistent.

I tried connecting the Sony and Mac via wi-fi only to the router, but it is more of the same, only slower.

I cannot see a pattern or common cause.

I am at my wits end on how to resolve the problem.
