Help please.

Sooner or later playing is slowing down or stuck for several times...

When normal playing is recovered, video and sound are not synchronized ....

I stop player and start it again.... Video and sound are synchronized again..

Any idea about stuck problems and synchronization issue?

Thanks in advance,

This is similar to the issue I've been having with my Sony Blu Ray players. Movie freezes, and I have to stop and restart to continue. Annoying at best. I haven't been able to get anyone at Sony to offer any assistance. My decision was to replace the BD players with another brand. Kind of expensive to do that for a TV, though.

Do you think that I will have more stable playing if I reduce the maxVBitrate? I use the following profile:

<Profile id="sonyFIX" name="Sony Bravia TV (2013) *" extendsProfileId="sony2013">
<Transcoding>
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" maxVBitrate="17000" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9">
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="matroska" />
</Video>
</Transcoding>
<OnlineTranscoding>
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9">
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="matroska" />
</Video>
</OnlineTranscoding>
</Profile>

My Sony BD players suddenly began working again after I deleted all the media servers from the list and refreshed it. I don't think that actually fixed it though. I had already reset one of the boxes to default, and that should have cleared the list as well. I'll keep monitoring to see if the problem comes back.

Reducing the Max video bitrate can certainly provide a solution IF the problem is the TV can't keep up with the stream. I don't know how new your TV is, but it seems like most recent models can support a fairly high stream. My Roku players can't handle much beyond 12 Mbps, while the Sony BD players have showed in excess of 50 Mbps without issues. Can you provide media information on a troublesome video using MediaInfo?

Thanks for your time.

How can I export the info you need?

In general my problem is that my sony 2014 kdl50w805b don't play mkv in full screen without transcoding (i don't like black bars). My wdtv plays the same files in full screen without transcoding. So I need a profile to provide full screen always.

The above profile transcodes everything with vCodec="h264 to mpegts with targetVCodec="mpeg2video" maxVBitrate="17000" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9"> but I have the problem of the stability of playing (stuck and stop).

I f there is anything I can do... please help.

Thanks in advance,

Depending on the movie, black bars might be necessary to maintain the proper aspect ratio. There are many movies with a ratio that exceeds the 1.78 ratio of a standard HDTV. If you expand these movies to full top-to-bottom, you end up with stretched images. :o

I don't have a link handy, but search the web for MediaInfo. It is a simple (Windows) program that extracts all the information from a file and presents it in an easy to read format. There's also a way to do it from a command line with FFMPEG, but it's not as user friendly to read. :D
