Do you really read the FAQ section ?
This is Sony Renderer firmware that doesn't support external Subtitles Support, Serviio could provide the external Sub file, but Sony ignore it...wait for Sony firmware update.
WMS works because the subtitles were burn into the transcoded video stream. For the moment Serviio/FFmpeg duo doesn't support sub burned.
