Total NOOB needs help with Sony BDP-BX57

I can see all of my video files, but several of them won't play, even though they appear to be the correct format. Most of them work great, but it would be nice if I could figure out how to play the ones that are returning the "file corrupted or unsupported" message. I've done a bit of research, but I'm totally confused!! HELP!!!

The FAQ didn't help and I couldn't find anything relatively close to my model number in the 2 readme's. As I said, I'm a TOTAL noob, so you're going to have dumb it down for me. LOL :)

It was automatically selected when I opened the console. It says that the Device Name and Profile are "Sony BD Player."

After working on this almost all day, I finally found a solution that works for me. I just used WinAVI to convert the avi files that wouldn't play into MPEG2 files. Works like a charm!!! A little more time consuming to convert about 12 files, but they go pretty fast. Plus, I can batch convert. WAAAAY better than a NOOB trying to figure out how to make Serviio recode these files. :) Now to figure out how to make it play my mp3s.......

Do you use the latest 0.5.2 Serviio version?
Please, could you turn on detailed logging (see signature), you should be able to see the FFmpeg command that is used for the transcoding.
Try executing the same command manually in a terminal window and post the result here.

I have encountered a few AVIs that the player seems to reject, but this will be the player, not Serviio. You can check to see if they play from a USB stick plugged in directly.

In my case they're pretty old AVIs so from back when there were early versions of DivX etc. so they're probably badly authored. Your film seems quite new, but I guess this could still be the case. There's nothing outwardly unusual from that ffmpeg -i though.
