Serviio

Hi - I'm attempting to stream from:
http://ice1.somafm.com/groovesalad-128-mp3

to a SONY BDV-N990W Blu-Ray Player. I've saved the url as a Live Stream in the Serviio Library and checked it is available and correctly formatted.

I can successfully select and play Online resource using a Samsung TV (LA32D550).

However when I select the Online resource on the the SONY Blu-ray nothing happens... no matter how long I wait. I've read the info on this Forum regards SONY DLNA and have set the profile to BDP-Sx70 (its the most conservative?) - but with no joy.

All other media via Serviio works fine on the SONY Blu-Ray.

Any suggestions as to how to get the SONY BDV to play from a live stream would be greatly appreciated.

Have upgraded to Serviio v1.6.1 - and problem still persists.

I'm assuming its an issue with the SONY Profiles. I've tried using all Profiles - but no luck.

Is it likely to be a transcoding problem - or is it that SONY Profiles (or devices) generally can't handle streamed media?

As noted above the url works fine on my Samsung TV.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

hmmm - just tried the Samsung TV - and now since installing Serviio 1.6.1 it too now displays an "Unsupported Format" error message and crashes. Nothing in the set up has changed other than installing the latest version of Serviio.

Okay latest installment - now have re-installed Serviio 1.6 and the Samsung TV is working like a charm (again). So there is something in the Serviio 1.6.1 install that breaks the Samsung TV Profile transcoding I suspect.

However, have also tried all the SONY BDP profiles on both Serviio 1.6 and 1.6.1 and none of them work. So looks to me like a transcoding problem with the SONY BD Profiles. Or just a limitation of the SONY device not able to handle streaming content (which wouldn't surprise me).

So short of attempting to re-code the SONY Profile myself - I'm running out of options at this point.

It's been a month or so now - beginning to wonder if this forum is supported?
