bdps370 doesn't see serviio until i restart the service

I've got serviio 0.4.2 running on my pc. my wd hd tv live box works fine with it, but my sony bdp-s370 only sees it after I restart the service after a hard reboot, or if I hibernate & resume the pc (windows 7 64bit). I tried 0.5.2 serviio but the bluray player didn't see it at all. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I've set it to delayed start and tried hard coding the ip address in the serviio console but nothing works; the wdtv box works all the time with it - just the sony player has this problem.
I can't see anything in the serviio logs to help.
until i restart the service, i get an error on the player like " server is starting, please wait"
any ideas?
