KDL-32CX523

I'm having a problem accessing audio files with Serviio.
My files are on a PC with WinXP and Serviio 0.5.2 is running.

When i select music to play it displays a list [Artists] (alphabetical).

When I scroll down to letter 'R' -it reports "could not receive the content list" and stops. I cannot select anything in R or later letters.

Is this;
a limitation of the database size ?
a corruption of my folders ?
a flaw in sony Firmware ?
or
a limitation of Serviio ?

Regards

A.

Don't know, could you post the detailed logging file (see signature) when you scroll down on Artist Menu?

3rd attempt.

Log attached. Filtered library updates

Original log was too large and bombed out while uploading.
I hope this log will help

Network issue ??!

I don't understand what you are asking me :(

Are you suggesting my Network is slow ? overloaded ? defective ? or has some protocol error ?

I am connected by wire (not wireless)
The error always happens at the same time. It is not inconsistent. I suspect if it was congestion, the errror
would happen at different points in the process, not always at 'R' .

Is there a chance it could be a DRM issue ? That some track needs to get a licence online (grasping at straws here :)

The error occurs even if *only* two device the Serviio PC and the Sony TV are connected to the Network.
The HD in the Serviio server PC is a Seagate 1TB drive, virtually new and quite fast. It has been checked, defragged
and seems OK.

My network:

Vodafone HomeGateway model HG556A ( 802.11n )
Devices:
2 off PCs - wired
2 off PC - wireless
1 off Dell R15 laptop - wireless
1 off Patriot Box Office Media Player
1 off Sony BDP S350 Blu Ray player
1 off Sony KDL-32CX523

Can you clarify for me ?
Can I do any more tests ?
Would allowing the library access to log help ?

Note: it worked quite well with Win Media Server and Mezzmo , but I could not get thumbnails to display -> the main reason I'm trying Serviio and
also since Sony endorse it.

Regards

check the ports required by serviio are open in your firewall (see FAQ) and make sure UPNP is enabled on your router.

I've already uninstalled and re-installed Serviio at this point and now it works perfectly as required.
All tracks are playing, all thumbnails are displaying.

My TV is recognised correctly as KDL-32CX523.

I'm sorry if i jumped te gun , and as a result I cannot answer your question concerning UPNP and ports as they were
in the last install.

As to why it went wrong on the first install, I may still have had Mezzmo installed and active at that time ?

On the current re-install, i had uninstalled Mezzmo. Maybe that affected it ?

I had also played with 'presentation' visibility options in the original install. I wonderif this might have caused
an issue ?

In any case, I'm now working :) . Great product ! Thanks for your input.

yep that would do it mezzimo was hogging the ports serviio wanted to use, so causing conflicts :D

My album art is now displaying in all cases except if the tracks ar .FLAC. I've converted some to mp3 and now they wil display the album covers.

Is there any way to force display of cover art without converting from .flac ?

Is this a property of Serviio or Sony firmware ?

I don't really understand the implications of altering profiles, but it looks like they give some control over transcoding. Could that also control album art display for .flac files ?

*edit*
Also , Is there any way to increase the album art size on screen ? The bundled Bravia Music icon is quite large , much larger than the album art I'm displaying. - a zoom function would be nice :)

no this is sony issue and not serviio sadly, so nothing can be done.

I think that Sony doesn't display album art for LPCM content. As flac is transcoded to lpcm, you're not seeing it even though Serviio serves the image. You could change transcoding to mp3 instead, but you'll lose quaility. So it up to you.
