I think that by looking at it you'll be able to figure out more.

# Specs below taken from http://www.sony.co.uk/product/blu-ray-d ... nicalSpecs
# then fine-tuned by lengthy trial and error since so much of that advertised spec is inaccurate.
# US models don't support video/divx mime type but European and Canadian models do.
# Subtitles in mkv files are only displayed if mime type is video/divx.
# Vob subtitles are not supported.
# See also viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2004 for more DLNA-related info on these players. --> :lol:

...

OK, so could you provide information about your mkv file?

Suggest, edit the serviio profiles.xml and comment lines with "<Matches container="matroska" />" in the Sony BDP profile section, restart serviio then retry.

Do you read that on profiles.xml ?
<!-- Sony BDP requests all formats except mpeg-ps and mpeg-ts in 32KB chunks which works badly over wifi, hence mkv files are remuxed to mpeg-ts by default in this profile. Natively played mkv files stutter irretrievably after seeks, which seems to be a DLNA firmware issue with the player. If you have a European or Canadian player (not US), you stream over a wired connection and want mkv subtitles, dts support, and multiple audio tracks - but don't care that you can't seek - remove all matroska transcoding matches below to have the player decode mkv natively. -->

Re: Problems with MKV / H.264 on Sony BDP-S370 Bluray-Player

BTW, playing the same file from USB stick, video and audio worked OK, but no subs appeared.

And over from PMS, I can't seek. So this Sony BDP profile in PMS is doing the same as removing the matroska transcoding matches in the Serviio profile does...

But after removing those matches in the profiles.xml and restarting the server, the subs didn't show up when playing the file. Did I do something wrong? I turned
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
into
<!-- Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" / -->
and so on. Is that correct?

It seems ok.
You can check the detailed serviio logging file (see signature to enable it), file must be delivered in native format mkv.
