Lovin Serviio. Been using it for a few months now.
Was wondering on my Sony Blu-ray 580 if there was any current work around to get subtitles from mkv files?
Some threads seem to indicate no, but was wonder if there's any options I might have?
thanks

check to BDP sticky here. I think it supports embedded subtitles, not sure which container and you might have to disable some transcoding.

Hi. Thanks for replying.
I did read the sticky you mentioned, and am still a little confused as to what I have to do.
Do I have to replace that code that is given?
(I thought that was for DTS audio problems).
I have a U.S. player, btw.
thanks again for the quick reply.

Subs are only supported on Euro and Canadian ones I'm afraid. No idea why Sony made it so.

Is there another program I can use first to merge/force the subtitles onto the mkv into one file and then use it in serviio?
thanks again

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MeGUI <-- will allow you to hardcode the subs into the video file.
