Serviio

Searched around, but I can't find an answer to this. I set up Serviio on two computers during testing. My box was able to use both of them, but I took one of them off line and uninstalled it, but the box still shows that "ghost server" grayed out. How do I delete it from the box's list? Is there a way to delete other services off the box that I know I won't use? It would be nice to be able to clean up the desktop so to speak.

Does anyone know of a forum about this box? I can't find much info about the box other than the basics. Could we start a sub-sub-forum? It's broken down to manufactures now, but Sony and others make an awful lot of models which all have specific issues and capabilities.

Ha Ha. Normally I don't, but since this thing was new to me, I read every word of it the day I got the box. Illico is referring to viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4487 where I asked a question that is not in my manual and the feature is not on my box.
You got me on this question though. It was in my manual however when I first read it, I didn't know there was such a thing as Serviio and when I was surfing around with the remote there was no server connected to the box so nothing to show. Besides that, the manual actually reads I want it to display the connected server and it is doing that. I don't want it to display the non-connected server.
What it actually says on screen is not very clear either. I don't want to check my server connections. My connection is working fine. For some reason I think this stuff was translated from Japaneses
Old server is now gone. If it was only that easy to clear out all the other things displayed that I don't plan on using

No media server here. I would just like to get rid of some of the services that I don't plan on using like Amazon On demand, Cinemanow etc., but I don't think that is going to happen.
I thought there would have been a lot of people that had hacked/modded these boxes, but I haven't run across anything like that.
I changed my Serviio's name, which shows on screen, but is there a way to stop it from showing the MAC address on screen?
With the smp-n200, you are supposed to be able to connect a usb keyboard to the port and use the keyboard to enter info. Does connecting a keyboard to the n100 do anything? I don't have a usb kbrd here to try it out myself. I hope it might be used for doing searches. Texting them on their virtual phone dialer is not fun and I don't have an iPhone.

I use the android app to remotely control the tv and it also allows me to use its keyboard to enter information on text entry boxes on the tv. It lists it works with the SMP-N200, hopefully you have a Android or Apple iOS device.

No I don't Hopefully the info you posted will help someone else. Someday I will have to break down and buy a smart phone. I stay away from Apple products. Back in the day when I used to repair consumer electronics professionally, Sony was always a pain to fix. Most broken Sony products were junked because of this. The last Sony product I bought was a cassette Walkman in 1985. I'm starting to wish I would have bought another brand of streaming box

Hardly any other brand of box offers you an app via your smart phone or windows pc to control the keyboard, I'd say that's a big positive for Sony for having this feature.

As for removing services you don't want, you can't do that. Thats not just a limitation of Sony though, most media boxes work the same e.g WDTV or if you have a more basic box you can't add services you want. A cheap media box isn't a fully computer where you can do what you want how you want.
