0.6.1 problem on Mac Leopard Server

I have 0.6.0 running fine on OSX Leopard on an iMAc with local login. All files from Aperture, iTunes and Video are rendered OK on a Sony BDS 480. Tried 0.6.1. running on my OSX Leopard Server but it displays "corrupt or unsupported files" for movies and iTunes files. Aperture files still render OK (mostly jpeg). Is this a problem with 0.6.1 or are there some third party files/plugins missing in the OSX Leopard Server that are for some reason in the ordinary edition? The only things that have changed are 1) moving to a server 2) using 0.6.1. I can't find any pointers in the Forum. Any help welcome. Haven't yet tried 0.6.0 on the server.

Checked log and error messages are of the type:
2012-01-24 01:43:18,568 WARN [LibraryManager] Cannot read metadata of file /Users/Shared/Movies/Croatia/MVI_2796.AVI via extractor EMBEDDED. Message: File /Users/Shared/Movies/Croatia/MVI_2796.AVI cannot be read to extract metadata
Could this be a permissions issue - serviio is not able to read the file? It's strange if it is as serviio is reading photos from a folder in /Users/Shared/*** with no problem.
Any insights welcome
Thanks
