View photos on TV

I am trying to view on my (Panasonic) TV - via a Sony SMP-N100 media player - photos and videos from my iMac desktop and MacBook Pro laptop computers. My attempts so far lead to the message on the TV screen: "No playable file".

I am puzzled by the instructions for the 'launchd' process. How do I obtain the file: org.serviio.server.plist'? How do I copy the code into the file?
Where do I go from there?

Sorry if the solution seems to be elementary, but I am at a loss to know how to proceed.

Can you post your serviio.log file?

All you should have to do is share the folder with serviio via the serviio console, select photo and click save.

Is there anything special about the photos?

I have the Sony N200 player --- what a disapointment when I tried to share my photos from a Windows 7 laptop and it cannot open the files...

We need more information.
Check your detailed log file.
Need information about your "file" format

Thank you for your response. I have made some 'progress', However, when I try to 'Add local' I have a list of items on the Macintosh HD - when I go in to Applications (which should access iPhoto and FlipShare [my video material]) they are both 'greyed out' and I cannot transfer them to the Serviio Library. Trying to enter them via 'Add path' gets me nowhere.
On the TV, of course. all I see is "There is no playable file" whatever I do.
There is nothing special about the photos - taken with a small Nikon and transferred to iPhoto they can be viewed simply on the computer.
How would I post serviio.log file, if that would help?
