Play back not available

I hgave got my wireless setup on my Sony Bravia CX520. Wireless works great and I can get onto the Internet.

I thought that I might try setting up DLNA and stumbled across Serviio as it was recommended that it will work with Sony Bravia brands.

The server can see the TV and has assigned it the Bravia 2011 TV profile.

The Bravia can see the serviio server and can connect to it.

It can browse the folders and can see the files. It can see the preview thumbnail for the files.

When I double click on it it loads for a while and then comes back to say "Play back not available"
It does this for all media
I thought that it might be the server so I tried it in VLC on my laptop so it is working.

I tried to look into the log (I couldn't find any other ones) but I couldn't find anything.

But here is the log that I got:

2012-04-05 23:20:38,239 INFO [RendererManager] Stored a new renderer: uuid='00000000-0000-1010-8000-4ce676baf745', name = 'KDL-40CX520', ipAddress='192.168.1.16', profile = '9'

Is anybody able to advise what I could do to make it work..I would be most appreciative.

When you say "tried it in VLC on my laptop", do you try with the VLC DLNA feature ?

Do you use a remote location for your media? (network disk)

Yes I went to Local Area Network and chose UPnP and navigated from there.

I have the screenshot attached.

When you say remote do you mean those file sit on a UNC?
No they don't.

They are sitting a VM on an ESX box.

I have installed Serviio on my own Desktop machine and see if it had problems there too. It can detect the share but cannot do playback

These are alll connected wirelessly. Is that where the problem lies?

Kind regards,

WY

Seems that it was the way the file format and codec that it was put in that is the issue.
I used Handbrake and reencoded it.

Will fix it but will open another thread to explore further.
