Locking up server when playing from Sony Blu Ray player

Can someone please give me a bit of advice, recently I have been having major problems playing files from my serviio server to a sony blu-ray player. It previously worked perfectly but suddenly if I use the blu-ray player to play any video files it cause the server to totally lock up.
The serviio software (latest version) is running on a Windows 2003 SBS R2 server connected to the Blu-ray player via Cat5. I can play the files directly to my TV (Samsung D series) without any issues but the blu-ray everytime kills the server, as soon as I try and play a file, it judders then fails and I can no longer access the server in any way (file shares, exchange, remote desktop etc etc) sometimes it will spring back to life if I turn the blu-ray player off and back on but othertimes its beyond help.
As far as I know nothing has changed and I don't know where to look. The server hardware is a HP Proliant ML110 G4if its relevant.
