this happened after the most recent update. I had just played some tv show avi files right before the update and all was fine. after the update they no longer worked. The few mp4 files still play fine.

I did try rewinding and fastforwarding thru an mp4 and it hanged quite a bit it wasn't as easy as it had been.

It's been reported elsewhere that manually selecting the TV (in Serviio) or Bravia profile (in Homestream) solves the AVI and MKV issues.

In serviio you have a tab that lists your connected network devices and Serviio indentifies them and applies a profile (usually correctly). You need to go to the Serviio console interface, the profiles tab and select Sony Bluray player for your device, click save and this will fix the problem.

mine is on the sony blu ray profile already there is not any other profile to choose that's it there is no specific player model listed.

NX3 misspoke. The Blu-ray profile doesn't work anymore, so you definitely don't want to use that one. You need to pick the Bravia TV profile instead, as shown below.

I realize you are streaming through your player and not your TV, but the TV profile has the correct info at the moment that works with the latest player firmware. That's the solution, whether it makes sense or not. Just do it, and it will work.
